Baked egg in sauce on pasta |
This recipe is a very quick and simple dish, it tastes great. I didn't think it through properly before making it though, so I put everything together in the pan which meant that on the plate it looked hideous. I forgot to take a picture of it on the plate before eating the whole thing at once, since it tasted so good. (Edit: Apparently I didn't forget, I just forgot that I took the pictures. They have been added in now).

Ingredients
- 1 Portion of tomato sauce ( Recipe for tomato sauce or you can use a store bought pasta tomato sauce ).
- 1 Egg
- 1 Portion of pasta ( or bread, chicken or some crunchy vegetables, really this recipe works with a lot of things. ).
- Cook the pasta (if using) according to the instructions on the packet.
- Preheat the oven to about 180 C.
- Heat the tomato sauce thoroughly.
My homemade tomato sauce. - Crack the egg into the middle of the sauce and poach for about 2 minutes.
- Put the pan with the sauce into the oven.
- Bake until the egg is no longer see-through.
- Serve the pasta on the plate, then spoon the sauce with the egg whole onto the top of the pasta.
